Senior School

At Mentone Girls’ Grammar, our Senior School students are empowered to become compassionate, ethical, and intellectual leaders of tomorrow. With the guidance of our exemplary educators and the advantage of small class sizes, they develop confidence, capability, and self-worth - assets that serve them well beyond their senior years. 

Years 7 and 8: These years are known as a ‘Journey of Discovery’. The curriculum, in conjunction with our rich co-curricular offerings, has been designed to take advantage of these important transition years, where girls experience significant cognitive, physiological, and emotional growth. Our students are supported and guided, as they start discovering opportunities and learning the importance of taking ownership of their learning.

Years 9 and 10: These middle years, we are ‘Creating a Strong Foundation’, where students broaden their horizons, focus on areas of interest and give more thought to their pathways after leaving school. Students personalise their learning program through the selection of elective subjects, encouraging them to grow and expand their passions.

Years 11 and 12: The last two years of Senior School are known as the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). We provide a generous selection of subjects that challenge students and provide them with enjoyment whilst also fulfilling tertiary entrance requirements. Our VCE students have access to a dedicated VCE building to support them through these challenging and exciting years. We are extremely proud of our VCE students and our tradition of outstanding results and pathways.
