We’re excited to announce that Mr Ian Lyell, our exceptional VCE History and Global Politics teacher, has been recognised by The History Teachers’ Association of Victoria (HTAV) for his outstanding Lifetime Contribution. The Colin Pearce Award is the Association’s top award and is reserved for those who’ve contributed to and championed their vocation at the highest level. “Our deepest congratulations to Ian on being awarded this prestigious prize. The truth is, we’ve never needed our History teachers more than we do today to provide an anchor of context, knowledge, and perspective in a sea of heightened conflict. The criteria would seem to have been written just for Ian, such as its accuracy in describing the colleague, leader and exemplary educator we’ve come to know and respect at Mentone Girls’ Grammar. In a relatively short time, he’s transformed the teaching of History, at our School.”
