Following a comprehensive search, the Council was unanimous in its decision to appoint Ms Perfect. She is an inspiring and passionate educator and bayside local, who presented Council with a clear and compelling vision for our school.

A distinguished leader in education, with extensive experience in senior management roles at independent schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge and proven track record of success to Mentone Girls’ Grammar. Currently the Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School at Ruyton Girls’ School, Ms Perfect has fostered a culture of care, underpinning academic and co-curricular excellence there since 2020. During her tenure, the School has thrived as a top VCE performer in Victoria with strong enrolments in a very competitive environment. Ms Perfect has also held a range of leadership positions at Haileybury College including Head of Senior School (Brighton) and Head of Year 12 (across Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick and City campuses). Ms Perfect holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education (Monash University) and a Master of Education (University of Melbourne), with certification from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Dedicated to empowering every student to achieve their potential, Ms Perfect has a holistic educational philosophy that is grounded in wellbeing. Through the implementation of contemporary, proactive wellbeing initiatives and differentiated learning programs that cater to the individual, she creates dynamic and inclusive environments where all students can be their best. With a clear mission to inspire young women to engage and thrive beyond school, Ms Perfect is committed to ensuring Mentone Girls’ Grammar continues to shape future leaders who are not only capable of recognising and articulating truth but also defending it with integrity and conviction.

Building on our 125-year history, Ms Perfect will carry forward Mentone Girls’ Grammar's proud tradition of delivering a world-class education for girls in the ever-changing world. Ms Perfect is particularly looking forward to meeting, and collaborating closely, with our students, staff, families and alumnae to foster a strong, supportive community where every individual feels known, seen and heard.

As we look to the future and prepare for Ms Perfect's arrival, I would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to Ms Natalie Charles for her exemplary leadership over the past five years. Ms Charles will continue to lead the School through 2024, working closely with the Council and Ms Perfect to ensure a seamless transition.

I look forward to joining the community in welcoming Ms Perfect in January 2025 and am confident that her leadership will elevate Mentone Girls' Grammar School to new heights as we embark on the next chapter of our school’s story together.
