Mentone Girls has allowed me to use my role to make a positive impact on the School sporting community and encourage fellow students to achieve their goals and pursue their passions.
Junior School students from Years 3 to 6 are strongly encouraged to participate in some form of competitive sport, with a focus on promoting the spirit of sportsmanship. Students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in Girls' Sport Victoria (GSV) inter-school competitions against other independent schools. Additionally, we offer morning running club and surf lifesaving to further enhance our students' sporting experiences.
Our Senior School students compete against 24 other independent girls' schools as part of GSV competition. Students can also participate in Strength and Conditioning classes before and after school, as well as Aerobics.

We’re thrilled to welcome Katie Brennan, Captain of the AFLW Richmond Football Club, to Mentone Girls’ Grammar. Katie will be coaching our Senior AFLW team, bringing an impressive list of achievements to the field. She's a two-time All-Australian player, boasting 52 games and 65 goals, making her one of the league's top performers.
Her professionalism, dedication, and passion for empowering girls in sports align perfectly with the leadership we embrace at our School. We're honoured to have Katie lead our AFLW girls, and we look forward to achieving great things together.
Our House sports system sees our students assigned to one of four house colours - Grammar House (Red), St Margaret's (Saints) House (Gold), McCowan House (Green) and Kent House (Blue). Throughout the year, students are given the opportunity to participate in several House events, such as swimming, dance, music, drama, cross-country and athletics.
