Swim Squad Framework

Our Swim Squad framework has been designed to cater for individuals who have passed Level 6 in our Learn to Swim Framework. These students can either choose our Competitive Squad pathway or follow our Fitness Squad pathway. 

The Competitive Squad (Junior or Senior) focuses on improving swimmer's overall skills to achieve their goals. Our focus is to teach swimmers to have an efficient stroke, excellent technique, and refining skills (dives, turns and streamlines). Our experienced coaches work with swimmers to develop the individuals’ strengths and weaknesses through a combination of pool and dryland training. Swimmers from this group will have the opportunity to compete in various competitions, from local meets to the Victorian State Championships and the Australian National Age Championships.

The Fitness Squad is designed for our water polo players, surf lifesaving competitors, triathletes, and our School swimming team members to maintain and improve their fitness for their chosen sport. The sessions will be tailored to their specific sport and performance needs.

Intro Squad

Swimmers focus on mastering technique, building confidence, and increasing fitness to swim laps in a 25m pool. This squad is for swimmers who already have a proficient level of backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. Here, we refine the rhythm and timing of butterfly, helping athletes further develop their skills and achieve their swimming goals.

Session times: 3 afternoons per week

Duration: 60 minutes

Competitive Squad - Junior

This is a competitive squad with swimmers aiming for State qualifying times.   Swimmers in this squad must be members of a club and competing in the upcoming season. Our sessions focus on building a strong foundation in skills, technique, and fitness, while teaching swimmers how to excel in competition.  

Swimmers will need to provide their own kit bag with short fins, pull buoy, kick board, paddles and a snorkel.

4 sessions per week : after school and Saturday mornings

Duration : 90 mins

Competitive Squad - Senior

This is a competitive squad with swimmers aiming for National qualifying times. Our sessions include strength and conditioning, and activation prior to each swim.  We focus on refining skills with a training program consisting of 7 swims per week.  Distance covered per session 5-7km.

Swimmers will need to provide their own kit bag with short fins, pull buoy, kick board, paddles and a snorkel.

7 sessions per week : before and after school, and Saturday mornings

Duration : 120 mins

Fitness Squad

Our Fitness Squad program is for those looking to improve their swimming skills and overall fitness, without the pressure of joining a competitive club. Covering all four strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly—this program is designed for swimmers aged 13 and older who want to stay fit, enhance their swimming abilities, or prepare for events like school swimming, surf lifesaving, water polo, and triathlons. Whether you're aiming to improve endurance, technique, or simply maintain your general fitness, this session is your gateway to a healthier, more active lifestyle in the water.

Session times: after school and Saturday mornings

Duration: 60 minutes
