Ms Charles commenced as Principal of Mentone Girls’ Grammar School in 2020.
She began her career as a teacher of English and Literature at Melbourne Grammar School, where she held several senior roles, including Head of Deakin House and Director of Staff.
Following this, she assumed the position of Head of Senior School at Carey Baptist Grammar School, where she was responsible for leading more than 800 Senior School students and their teachers.
Ms Charles believes that at their core, schools must address the fundamental need that all young people have a purpose, meaning and belonging, which in turn instils hope as they prepare to face a world beyond the school gates.
