Mentone Girls’ Grammar is seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and experienced Head of Year 8 to join our team during Term 2, 2025.
The Head of Year 8 is a member of the Wellbeing Team and works collaboratively with the Heads of School and Heads of Department to ensure an education plan that enables students to maximise their academic and personal development. As a visible leader, they are responsible for the tone and effective management of the year level and will work primarily in the areas of leading the pastoral care and development of students.
As Head of Year, the successful will demonstrate an ability to relate positively with students and parents, and to engender a high level of confidence throughout the parent and wider community. At the heart of this role will be a teacher who has a natural rapport with staff and students and has a deep understanding of the unique needs of students in their care.
Demonstrated pastoral care experience specific to Year 8 students will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will have the preferred teaching method of Psychology, English or Humanities, with the ability to teach to VCE level.
This position is being offered as a full-time fixed term role (parental leave replacement).
