Mentone Girls’ Grammar is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Head of Music Programs.
The Head of Music Programs will be responsible for the day-to-day management and direction of all the extra-curricular music offerings. This includes the responsibilities of being a Head of Department, leading and working with teachers in the ongoing development of music programs that captures the interest and enhances the artistic capability of girls across the school. This role includes the oversight of all lessons with peripatetic music teachers, ensemble groups and/or performances.
This position will require a leader with ambition and drive to take the department forward, making changes wherever necessary to further enhance the position of the School as a place where girls flourish in a high performing, nurturing environment. As a passionate teacher with educational leadership experience, the successful candidate will have the ability to articulate a vision for the Department’s continued growth and performance.
At the heart of this role will be a leader who will have a natural rapport with staff and students and have the ability to engage students and inspire them to achieve their best. The appointee will be an articulate, inspiring role model, fostering and cultivating the love of learning in their students.
This position is full time (FTE 1.00). The successful candidate must be able to teach Music to VCE level.
The appointed candidate will be available to commence in Term 2, 2025 (April) and it is anticipated that there will be opportunities during the latter part of Term 1 for the candidate to visit the School and receive a comprehensive handover.
